A laser that redirects lightning may very well be used to guard important buildings throughout storms.

When an electrical cost builds up in clouds, lightning can both propagate downwards, from clouds to the bottom, or upwards from tall objects in the direction of the clouds. Whatever the lightning’s course of journey, conductors reminiscent of metallic rods are usually used to redirect the electrical present away from susceptible targets and into the bottom.
